GET TO KNOW PHASEWOOD

Small details.
Big possibilities.

Reach for a control.
See where it takes the track.

01

Open sweep or deeper swirl

Choose six all-pass stages for a more open movement, or twelve for a denser character.

02

Choose your patch of forest

Set Low Range and High Range to choose where the phaser wanders. Rate sets the pace. Bring the endpoints together to hold one frequency and let the grain stand still.

03

Let the edges glow

Resonance brings out the peaks. Drive adds harmonic body, with soft saturation in the feedback path.

04

A little space between the sides

A slight stereo modulation offset gives the channels different movement. Mix and Output keep the result in context.

05

Eleven paths through the trees

Start with a factory sound, then make it yours. Compare A and B beside the preset selector, watch the amber response and dotted live spectrum, and flip the metal bypass toggle to check your bearings.

THE MIXING ROOM

Less reading.
More listening.

Pull up a chair for Coffee’s Getting Cold. Shape a real stereo mix with AuraFlex and RFC-VCA, compare settings, and follow the sound.

The live session features browser editions of AuraFlex and RFC-VCA.

A FEW PLACES TO START

Follow the grain. Lose the straight line.

01

Make electric keys wander

Start with a slow Rate and a comfortable Low / High Range, with Mix near the middle. Give a sustained chord room to move.

02

Add motion to a guitar part

Use six stages for an open sweep, then find the rate that sits comfortably with the picking pattern.

03

Send a synth somewhere else

Try twelve stages, more resonance, and a touch of Drive for a denser, more animated texture.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Where do I park the Mix knob?

Near 50% is a useful starting point for deep phasing. Then follow your ears. Parking is free; wandering is encouraged.

Where does that wooden warmth come from?

Analog-inspired all-pass stages, harmonic Drive and soft feedback saturation. A familiar spirit with its own wandering ways.

Is the amber display reading my aura?

The amber line shows the phaser response, while fine dots follow the processed audio spectrum. A little window into the woods.

How do I hold one colour?

Bring Low Range and High Range together to hold the sweep at one frequency. Use Resonance, Drive and Mix to find its place in the track.
