Meet in the middle
Load two audio files, or feed the VST3 from your DAW’s main input and sidechain. Move Morph from A through the collision to B. Listen A and Listen B let you check each source.
SPECTRO-GRANULAR SOUND MODULATOR
Bring two sounds into the chamber and see what happens between them. Spectral detail, granular motion and a violet-to-lime Morph fader turn familiar sources into wonderfully unfamiliar company.

Choose Spectral, Granular or Hybrid. Timbre and Formant shape spectral detail; Grain Size spans 10 ms to two seconds. Hybrid brings both worlds into the same chamber.
Sample Length selects 20 ms to five seconds of recent Source B audio. Freeze Texture holds and repeats that window; adjust its length while held or release it back into the stream.
Character shapes collision strength, drive and granular ring modulation. Scatter spreads, detunes and reverses grains, and diffuses spectral phase. Follow A makes B follow A’s amplitude.
Live View switches between the incoming sources and the resulting waveform. Violet and lime lights orbit the chamber while sparks respond to the sounds.
Save a .soniccollider setup with settings and source-file paths, then recall it in standalone or VST3. Factory presets remember their own source pairs; Randomize explores the shaping controls.

A FEW PLACES TO START
Use a rhythmic source for A and a textured recording for B. Try Spectral or Hybrid, then move Morph and Formant until the two find a shared language.
Choose a short Sample Length and Freeze Texture. Explore longer grains and Scatter to spread that little moment across a much larger space.
Feed A from the main DAW input and B from a sidechain. Try Follow A to let your performance shape the second source’s amplitude.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Start with two contrasting sounds: a voice and a texture, percussion and a sustained chord, or a clean instrument and a field recording. Move Morph slowly and listen for the interesting middle.
Yes. In the VST3, A can use the main mixer input and B can use a routed sidechain. The standalone can use Live Input for A, with your device chosen in Audio Settings.
A window of recent Source B audio, chosen with Sample Length. Change the window length while held to reshape the captured texture, then click Freeze again to return to incoming sound.
Save a .soniccollider setup or save your DAW project. Keep source audio at its saved locations, and use Choose Sound to relink a moved file.
